my first 10k hands
  TRACKDO1, Feb 08 2008

Maybe i should go back to limit where 2.5 ptbb/100 is a good thing. Ive started playing no limit holdem and it's nothing like limit. I just finnished my first 10,000 hands playing NL10. Im pulling 2.51 ptbb/100, and i didn't even get out of the red for the first 4k hands. I'm not sure where the ptbb/100 should be for me at this level, but i know im still not doing well. I see others posting 8ptbb/100 and bigger, so im sucking right now.

Im looking for my leaks as im sure i must look like a lawn sprinkler. I think im playing too tight, 16/8/2.5, but im finding it hard to open up at NL10 with 4 people seeing every flop and calling down to every river. Im wondering if i should be raising more than the standard 4x + 1 for every limper? Or maybe i should just stick to standard play and get more hands under my belt before i start tweaking my game?

I don't know but this NL is a total different game from limit. I kill NL200 AND NL500 (live). This NL online is a mofo, but at least i'm winning. Small, but winning.

Any thoughts are more than welcome.

Guess the hole cards.
  TRACKDO1, Jan 28 2008

I was watching a SilentAssassin3's Cardrunner video. He did a $2/$4 (six max). He kept stressing the importance of putting people on a range of hands. I've been working hard on that as it's one of the most important skills in poker.

I read tons of hand posts on here, and some never show the showdown and leave us guessing as to the other persons' hole cards. That has driven me crazy.

I thought of a fun idea to post a hand, but not the showdown until posters have time to guess the other person's hole cards. I think it would be only right to put the other person's PAHUD stats eg.(23/14/3.2) or whatever to give a clue of his hand range.

I think it would be fun to see who's best at putting people not on a range, but the actual hand. And when the actual hand is guessed, the op can let everybody know he/she guessed it right and there's a winner!

fun game and also a tool to learn to read hands better.

I don't know how to post a hand yet, and i don't want to hear the bullshit because i don't. I'll figure it out and we can get started, or somebody that knows how to post a hand can do it and we can get to guessing.

Good idea? bad?

27 buyins not enough
  TRACKDO1, Jan 25 2008

MY start at 25nl wasn't good. 27.5 buyins washed away by allin short stacks and the bad rivers. One of my last hands were 88 and flop 282, i was scared to bet because when you're running bad like this, the more you bet, the more you lose. Don't let flopping a boat make you feel safe to bet.I lost.

Now i'm starting over 5nl because i refuse to rebuy after a $700 down swing. i'm going to take my 11 dollars and grind my way back.

My new bankroll is now going to require 50 buyins for whatever i'm playing. I'm not moving to the next level without 50 buyins for that level.

maybe when i get better, my swings wont be so bad. I try really hard not to listen to all of the "rigged" theories like the one where the short stack going allin win most of the time reguardless of his cards to keep the money evened out and the players playing where the rake will go over the money several times before the better players eventually gets it.

I got drunk after a series of bad rivers, so i decided to email pokerstars as a joke and tell them i had a bad account and request a new account that doesn't get all the bad beats. Kinda like you did for H@LL. PokerStars didn't find my email funny. That's ok, i didn't find my next hand after the email funny either. 66 flop 6J4 he goes allin so i call, he has 44. I CAN'T LOSE!!! that is til the case 4 falls. The moral to the story is, don't get drunk and send support a shity email.

wish me luck in grinding my way back up from 5nl.Maybe i'll learn more where my swings arnt so big. I know it can't all be from bad beats, but it seems like it sometimes.
